The opening game between Cavaliers and Tigerstream began with a storming chukka from the blues. Teroerde's reliability at back thwarted any advances from Tigerstream and turned defence into attack quickly. By half time a three goal difference still separated the two teams. Chukka three saw a return to form for Ba Pataudi's team with Ed Courage finding goal a few times. A close final chukka left the scores separated by only half a goal in favour of Cavaliers.
