The first tournament of the season at Ham always provides some excellent polo and entertainment for spectators. The grounds are always in top condition offering a great opportunity for the players to give their ponies their first proper test of the summer.

The Mixed Doubles

Each team in this competition is comprised of two men and two ladies hence the name ‘the Mixed Doubles’. The tournament is played in a fun but competitive spirit and the winner will receive the Goal Cup, one of Ham’s largest trophies.


The Petersham Bowl

The 2 goal continues with the Petersham Bowl, another favourite of the regular teams at Ham. Not just great polo to play in but finals day is often one of the most busy spectator days at the club making for a fantastic atmosphere to be involved in.

The Summer Tournament

(2-4 goal)
July
The level is raised to 4 goal for the summer tournament and higher numbers of entries are expected meaning more league games. Visiting teams are welcome to enter and this is a great opportunity to experience playing at one of the best and most exciting polo clubs in the UK.


The Dubai Trophy

(10-12 goal)
July
Ham Polo Club’s highest handicapped tournament and some of the best polo you can see at the club. This year the Dubai trophy will be played for on two Friday dates and all polo will be scheduled in the evening. This means spectators can kick off their weekend with an exciting evening at Ham entertained by some of polo’s best international stars.

The Roehampton Cup

Having first been played for in 1902 the Roehampton Cup is one of the UK’s oldest polo trophies. Teams from all over the UK will battle it out to try and get their names alongside the polo greats already on the 112 year old cup. Played at a 6 goal level, the polo will be an excellent standard and well worth competing in.


The Billy Walsh Tournament

The tournament season’s finale at Ham is the Billy Walsh. The competitions fun spirit reflects the enjoyment Billy Walsh brought to the game for the many years he ran the club. Many teams return year after year to play in this tournament making it one of the best of the summer and a great way to round off the season.
